Stepmania hooked with arcade cabinet - upgrade.

We have stepmania hooked with an arcade cabinet and we are looking for solutions on how we can increase the sensitivity of the dance pads to the point that we can succesfully hit hand arrows.

Is there any way we can hard mod the dance pad atleast to achive 95% sensitvity like the ITG machine.

you're going to need to taper the corners of each panel to 1/8" deep, and the exact dimensions of each bracket (not all are the same). then you're going to need to find at least 1/8" rubber matting, they have all sorts of sizes like 5/32, 3/8, etc. if it's not sensitive right now, in the least, i'd suggest buying 5/32 and working with that. cut the matting into strips that will cover each L bracket, glue, tape or adhere on to the L bracket. put the pads back on and try it out. That's what I did for my Bluesharks and they're as good as ITG pads if not better. Of course I regularly maintain them so there shouldn't be an issue there. To taper the corners you'll need to a lot of sanding and scraping or a planer (what i used). It just takes time, intelligence, and determination. I went to no less than 10 hardware stores to find the right rubber. Buy more than you need so you don't have to go back, that's my advice. hope this helped
