About my pen drive, which cannot be opened nor formatted but show when inserted into a pc? i have a pen drive after using it for sometime . whenever i insert it into my PC. it says i should format and after formatting, Still i cant open it. is it virus? help me cause i don't know what to do.

I had the same problem with one usb drive, tried it in different operating systems without any better result. Most likely the memory is physically damaged so there's not much you can do except getting a new one.

Have you guys tried formatting it using the computer management in windows xp?

It is located in control panel > adminstrative tools > computer management
once you are at computer management choose disk management. Your usb should show up as a removable storage

Yes (I'm not that noob...). When I did that it didn't even show up in XP (fyi, such a horrible OS), in Vista, Windows 7 or some unixes it showed up but it couldn't be formatted.
