I have a CF and they're just fantastic! Anyways you can save a little money and shipping time by buying from Best Buy. Even though I hate Best Buy, I would like people that have always wanted a CF to get one. I've wanted 1 for about 1 or 2 years and I just recently got one and I have never been happier!

Anyways its $300 plus $40 shipping. You're probably saving $10 from shipping but I'm sure you won't have to wait 3 months to get the pad. It says it ships in 1 day.

I just found this and got excited. I don't know why though... E1.gif

I dislike Best Buy as well because they're generally overpriced, but they do occasionaly turn up some alright deals. I got 2 BFG 8800GT's for my PC last year for $170 apiece, which was only $5 more than on Newegg for the same brand, but that small extra bit and sales tax to have it right now made it worthwhile at the time. I think I spent $20 more than I would've on Newegg, rather than the usual $100+.

That said, it's an interesting find.

On the Cobalt Flux pads, where are the [Select] and [Start] buttons?

On the current models (version 2) they are on the control box.

It says that an adaptor is required for Xbox and makes no mention of PC compatability. Presumably this means it would have an old control box. Has anyone who ordered it from Best Buy verified this? Or is it just an incorrect item description?

Because if I need to order a seperate adaptor for Xbox/PC, I might as well order direct from CF?

Aw man, it would have been nice to have known this before I purchased from cobaltflux.com disgust.gif My mom paid $315 including shipping to get a Cobalt Flux in four or five days, and I have had a few issues with it. I guess I was essentially ripped off, huh?

No if your a stepmania player (USB on your control box) and yes if you are a pump on PC player (the old ps2 control boxes map the middle button, new ones don't).

EDIT: nevermind

The bestbuy site is misleading. Mine came with PS2, XBox, and USB connectors.

I don't understand why people go crazy over Cobalt Fluxes. I bought one a year ago and thought it was amazing when I had just started to play 12's...then after I started to improve, I realized that I was getting a poopy of pad crap on anything above a 10. (This was after debowing the panels and cleaning the pad multiple times, by the way.)

The feel of the pad is really uncomfortable anyway IMO, and even with the arcade mod, the pad feels nothing like an ITG2 dedicab.

I tried playing a 14 the other day on my CF...oh god, that was hilarious.

as an alternative, you could make your own cobalt flux, its not that hard to replicate.
