trying to get something for my lil brother and myself. We are both big fans and have been playing for years. Until one day they took the arcade out of our local arcade place ;(

So we use stepmania. Just wondering, are any of these here good mats?? I'm not looking for anything spectacular, just want an upgrade from the foam mats we have. I figure I come here and ask the pros for an opinion

Don't, I think there's a good chance that they'll break without being repairable.
Get a Blueshark or Cobalt Flux, or build your own.

I'd recommend building your own!

I think spending not long looking at this forum would tell you what CT_Warrior just said.

If there is one big thing that everyone says, it's DONT BUY EBAY

I agree with CT_Warrior, if you or someone you know has any skill with building things you will be able to make a mat for cheaper than one you can buy. I built mine using some of the tutorials on this site and a bit of my own design and it works great.

Bluesharks are non-existant, and probably will never come back. Go with a Cobalt Flux.

Another option I would suggest since you sound like an arcade player is a Redoctane Afterburner.

The problem with Afterburners are that they're really recessed. They're good if you don't want to shell out $700+ for CFs though.

An easy fix for Afterburners is just to cut a new lexan panel on top of the original ones. Of course, that requires about 20 bucks and time to cut the panels (which still is cheaper than CFs)
