My brand m&d says nothing about open-cell and closed-cell. I heard that closed-cell decompresses a lot slower, and I just wanted to check if I had open-cell.

Mine takes about a full second to decompress.

Also depends on how much wear there is on it. The best one I used decompresses immediately. If you get to the point where you need to replace it, look for Manco Super-R weatherstripping as a replacement.

Thank you very much! I assume the one that decompresses immediately is the Super-R weatherstripping?

the high density m&d foam is closed cell, the only m&d i found that was open cell (or low density) was air conditioner stuff that was no less than 1.5" thick.
