1 great, there are more specific terms but i'm not exactly clear about what they are exactly, so someone can feel free to correct me:

Black flag = 1 great
True black flag = 1 great, on last step of song
White flag = 1 great, on first step of song

If you go by ITG rules, this is the breakdown:

1 great = green flag
1 excellent = black flag

AFAIK a black flag was usually used to refer to just getting one great. There may be variances to it.

Also, I dubbeth the one marvelous as the "I got jipped" flag.

Don't you just hate that crap? laugh.gif

I wonder if there is a term other than "fucking sensors" for all perfects with the exception of an N.G. on the last step. This happened to me the first time I was to AAA I'm in the Mood for Dancing. I was so mad, I felt like I was about to shit a brick.

Yeah, I just associated it with the wrong definition.

Couldn't a blue, purple or red flag refer simply to one Good/Boo/Miss away from a full combo?

And I thought in ITG, a black flag was still one Great, and one Excellent would be a gold flag - even though the awards for both of those show green flags. But maybe they're green and black, respectively.

So what would all Fantastic, one mine hit in ITG be?

And what about StepMania? With Marvelous timing there and the existence of the AAAA, what color would the flags be for one Great and one "Perfect"? And if you use Ridiculous Timing, one Marvelous? And would having Ridiculous Timing affect the color of the flag for one "Perfect" since there's now a higher judgment to get all but one of?

you are giving it too much thought.

people just call it a "black flag" for one perfect in SM.

In ITG, as I already mentioned:

1 great: green flag
1 excellent: black flag

I know that for ITG I carry over the DDR standards of 1 great = black flag, but for 1 excellent I call it a GOLD flag in respects to the color of the excellent judgment. I used to say "I got a black flag on _____ song today" and everyone always assumes I was referring to 1 great. As soon as I started saying GOLD flags, people could instantly guess that I ment, that I had gotten a single excellent.

Yeah, I've never heard anyone refer to one excellent in ITG as a black flag. I've always referred to it as a gold flag.
