- Introduction

Hello my name is Aaron Poirier I am an older DDR player from back in the day, but that probably doesn't really matter. What I am posting today for is an idea that me and probably many of you have had before but never really took initiative to do anything about it. My idea was to get DDR/ITG into the CGS as one of their featured games to compete in.

- What is the CGS?

The Championship Gaming Series is to be the first true professional gaming league, offering a league structure similar to that available for other sports. The league includes a team franchises that consist of paid General Managers and contracted athletes. There are drafts, season play, special events and a championship, all with beginning-to-end, worldwide, television coverage. The Championship Gaming Series is a genuine gaming sports league.

- Current Featured Games of The CGS

Counter-Strike: Source
Dead or Alive 4
Project Gotham Racing 3
FIFA 07
World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade

- My Opinion of The CGS

The Electronic Sports industry is growing rapidly now a days. As an example of what I mean, ESWC (Electronic Sports World Cup) has held past Counter-Strike 1.6 tournaments over in Europe where the tournaments would be played in stadiums as a spectator sport. As The CGS steps in as a new perspective on Electronic Sports it is definately one more way of making the community grow. So why is Dead or Alive 4, or FIFA 07 just a few of the featured games in The CGS? I thought it would be better to add DDR or ITG into the league as one of the main events. I know that there are a TON of people who actually play these games, and who are ridiculously talented at it so why not make it a spectator sport?

- Feedback/Support

If you think this is a good idea or you support it reply to this thread with any feedback or suggestions you would have about my idea or what you think of the games being a spectator sport.

Oh also comment about other games you think you would like to see in The CGS I know that Marvel vs Capcom 2 or Street Fighter would be great if any of you have watched EVO Moment #37 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KS7hkwbKmBM )

Well more important than DDR is 2D fighters. I'm really disappointed that they lack that. I'd definitely choose those over DDR. They're a lot more competitive and have a gigantic community (I say this mostly because I'm a 3rd Strike and Guilty Gear player myself =P).

I support DDR 100% though. Although it's not the conventional type of game the CGS is used to, it would still make an awesome addition. I mean players everywhere would compete and would make competitions bigger than ever. It would be great if they added ITG since we don't have any ITG Nationals to look forward to anymore.

Actually, I am fairly sure this is the event that I was being contacted about last December or so for DDR. Problem was they couldn't get all their facts straight regarding the rules and such so they dropped the idea. If you think you can give them a good pitch, I'd say go for it.

Hmm... So they are interested in including DDR.

I'd do anything in my power to make it happen. Now we just need some contact information, which shouldn't be too hard to find.

People should start coming up with good points as to why DDR would make a decent addition to the series.

Yeah, if they had WoW in there, at least have DDR/ITG.

You know how boring it is to watch people play WoW?
It's like golf. Only fun is to be in on it.
