Why are threads constantly being locked in RC if someone starts to troll them instead of just issuing warning points and letting the thread continue? It seems like whenever someone doesn't like a thread all they have to do is call the OP a douche and the thread will get locked. I'm sure there are points being issued along side but some of the lockings are getting out of hand.

They're definitely being locked. Outside of RC, I've been pointing and that tends to shut up the asshats, but inside RC it tends not to work. However, things may have gone to where I can just point and let it go. The more recent thread about this year's 9/11 was doomed from the beginning though, I feel.

Will consider a shift.

I don't know. I think most of the threads that are being locked devolved from the original topic into pointless banter and flaming, which warrant locking if you ask me.

The exception was that one about the game code, but that's illegal so... ya know.

Personally I like what Discoman has been doing, I think DDR Freak is a better place when stupid threads are locked quick and painlessly and the idiots who make them or contribute to getting it locked post less because they don't like the "mean" mods who are only making the internet a better place. I'm not saying everyone who makes a thread that gets locked is an idiot, just the ones who make the thread lock-worthy from the start.
