The timing window on the home version, as compared to the arcade, is only very, very slightly larger to accomodate for pad lag. |

your predicament with the timing window sounds like either a pad/controller lag issue or a syncing issue with your setup. the window is already fairly large as it is, so they really don't need to make it much easier. _________________

The timing window for itg home version is almost exactly the same as the arcade. The reason your probably getting so many greats is because its off sync. Try using syncing it at +5 or +10. _________________

300 greats!? jes, you must be really off beat. I would have to try really hard to get 300 greats
And I can't even tell the timing difference from arcade to home. It's BARELY noticable, which is good, because then home scores pretty much are the same as arcade scores (if you have a good pad aka blueshark) _________________

The difference is much less noticable on ITG since it's only 2 milliseconds different. I know it's more on DDR, but I don't know how much. _________________

he means the windows are larger to account for the lower sampling rate of the PS2 _________________

A friend of mine who's actually quite a good player (Expert SDEs, etc.) noted that the offset on ITG home version is different for some songs. (She most notably commented on Anubis being off) This might be part of what's giving you trouble adapting. Also, if you play with a wireless pad, those things are really bad for lag...other pads not so much, but even then some. I know that with DDR you could go into the options and change a number from -10 to +10 or something like that to change the offset of all of the songs to accomodate for pad lag issues. _________________

Please tell us:
1) What kind of pad you use
2) What kind of TV you have
3) If the game is set to CONTROLLER or DANCE PAD
4) If you play anything like DDR on this setup, and how you score _________________
