I have a question about the offical Konami IIDX controllers.

1) On the big plastic one, do the buttons click like they do in the arcade?
2) On the metal one that costs $3249587239587, do the buttons click like they do in the arcade?
3) On the metal one that costs $3249587239587, do the buttons light up like they do in the arcade?

Thanks!

On the ASC, yes, on the regular KOC, no.

Konami doesn't make a metal ASC, nor do they make a controller that costs that much, at least, to my knowledge - the actual machine isn't that much.

None of Konami's controllers light up.

Just placed an order for an IIDX controller from NCSX. biggrin.gif

Just wondering, for anyone that ordered from them, how long did it take for them to ship it? I ordered before 5PM est.

I have GF4/DM3 and the Yamaha UX-16 Midi->USB converter. I have the Roland V-Club Studio electronic drumset (it's the TD-6 module). I can hook it up just fine, and select USB Drum as the controller, and the PS2 recognizes it OK. The problem is that when I hit any drum pad, it registers twice in the game. There is a "gate" setting on the TD-6 module that controls how quickly the midi signal is stopped. The default is set at 0.1 seconds, which makes the game register two quick hits on any pad. The highest setting is 8.0 seconds, which again makes the game register two hits on any pad (although 8.0 seconds apart). This is very annoying and makes the game unplayable. Has anyone seen this before? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks.

Jim

Konami has it's KBM controller. It's USB. The only non-konami keyboard will work for the game is a midi keyboard. Unless you know japanese it's easy to set up other wise it's trial and error. Go to http://www.japanvideogames.com if you want the Konami one. They don't have the game though.

The DiscJockey controller isn't listed for IIDX

Its the same as the DJ Man but for IIDX, haven't tested it but i'm planning on picking one up possibly, unless I wait till beatmania gets released in the US and Konami brings out an affordable controller that replicates the arcade keys. It has a pedal for that like, what 1 beatmania game that uses a pedal?

I don't actually play beatmania yet E12.gif I want to tho

The pedal is used for drum mania or beatmania III (arcade only). That's all that I can think of unless I'm missing one or more.

About the IIDX KOC:

I have a brandnew KOC BUT....
The turntable seems to register poorly/uneven :/
Is this normal with new KOC's?

Sometimes when I keep spinnning clockwise, the game registers as spinning counter-closewise. The reverse also happens.

When a lot of individual TT spins appear on the screen(ala Spin the Disc) and I quickly move the turntable back and forth, it either keeps registering like mad, or doesnt register consistently.

I already modded the TT to make it turn smoother but that doesnt help the problem at all.

Anyone know how to help this? Does this even sound familiar?

It just takes time to get used to it. You can do the Slipmat mod for the controller.

I modded the keys and added the turntable slipmat mod as well within a few hours of getting my KOC.

I'm still not sure about the "getting used to" part though, I mean, when a lot of scratches come up...i'm toast.
Also, if I turn my TT clockwise at a certain (slow) speed, the cursor moves backwards.

Don't tell me that's not a sign of a half busted sensor :/
Well I'll keep playing with it for now, I'll fail all the good-cool songs though -_-;

No. You COULD play it with the GH controller but IIRC the controls are really messed up and it hurts your hands alot. It's like playing IIDX with a DDR Pad.

Quoted for ROFL

HEre's the word on the street. I have yet to try this but it may not be B.S. If your PS2 is remote capable, find an original sony PS2 remote and find a way to keep the left arrow depressed. Doing so SHOULD make your GH register as GF when plugged in and this will make the top 3 frets (yellow, blue, orange) work for GF .. Im testing as we speak, will be back soon

I'd say your best bet for answers on Modding the koc is bemanistyle. I really don't know much about modding the controller.

its a step up from a soft pad, it has 1inch thick foam inserts that make it some what stiff, shoes will tear it up tho.

Is it best to get IIDX controller now or just wait til its released in the US?

I have IIDX9th since the released and never played it with IIDX controller before.

I read that some IIDX Controller keys doesnt work with US PS2 that well.
