I played it for the first i tried from 1 to 13s...but over the music was the worst i have heard. I didnt like the fact to i had to change my settings off hallway and no mines and stuff like that. also songs yes are too very long...i am not trying to bash the game..its decent i did liek the song that went from 60 to 612 bpm...but i think ddr is uch better game overall..i dont see why people would switch over maybe for more of a challenge..

People play ITG for the challenge. The songs are longer and the songs are more difficult. Songs now go up to 13.

Can we lay off this please? People don't play ITG only for the challenge. If they wanted challenge and nothing else they would have joined the track team or something.

Some of us do like the music, difference in opinion *gasp*, thanks.
P.S. I play very little songs on Expert, I play a lot of Hard, and I enjoy it.

By the way, not everyone 'switches' either. Many still play both casually.
Playing ITG does not mean you have to stop playing DDR altogether. Try both, you might like the best of both worlds!

Hi. I enjoy ITG's music, because it's the sort of thing I'd actually listen to outside of the game. ITG2's has as good a songlist as any dance game ever, imo. About DDR's music, I feel that Extreme is the only version with a very small percentage of good songs, but unfortunately that's about all we have around here.

It's unreasonable to expect everyone else to share your musical tastes. So tell me, how could anyone not love ITG's music?

I just said that because he said it couldn't be that. E15.gif

I like ITG's music and what ITG2's is coming out to be too. It's pretty good stuff. biggrin.gif

The majority of ITG's music is techno, eurodance, or trance. I've heard people complaing that it has too much.

I don't know why everyone ignores Machinae, Vanilla Ninja, and a LOT of KeeL's stuff.

Happy Hardcore is not Techno/Eurodance/Trance (exception to the rule: july -euromix-)
Drum and Bass is not Techno/Eurodance/Trance
ZIGZAG (Andy) is Techno, somewhat Tribal Techno.

Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music is an excellent resource.
(Google it.)

As another "less-than-Godly" player, I have a question for the ITGers:

I have never played ITG (none close that I know of) yet have read tons about it. Unfortunately, the majority of what I hear is "OMG it has 11s, 12s, and 13s." Now, I appreciate the need for ridiculously hard steps for the elite among us (which does not include me E1.gif ), but I am more interested in fun steps for the medium and hard difficulties. Fun steps for me is defined (due to my traditional dance background) as "challenging steps that make me feel as if I am actually dancing - not competing in the 21st Annual Cockroach Stomp-Off." How do ITG's steps rate in this department?

Heh, if you can only play on Medium difficulty then stick with DDR. Hard mode is better, I played it for about a month before I was good enough to play Expert, but it's still not as good as DDR IMO (and I am definitely NOT a DDR fanboy). You really should aim to eventually play on Expert; it's not like it's impossible to get better at this game, and once you're passing 12+ footers your concept of what is fun/rewarding about the game will probably change.

The medium/hard steps in ITG2 were improved on significantly as well. If you got ITG2 near you, you'd be fine starting there, otherwise, ITG1 has mostly boring hard steps

i also am a less than godly player that has started to switch. i actually like the music(Euphoria rocks!!) and the steps are a nice change, especially the hands. but i think the biggest reason is that it has a great pad near me and most of the DDR ones are getting pretty bad out here:(

DDR's Heavy>>>>>ITG's Hard.

Seriously, the only hard song on ITG I would ever care to play is July. The steps just suck. But Expert is fun, lots of fun.

Haha. I think on the otherwise. I feel that ITG's hard steps are more fun than most of the expert steps. I just play the song on expert if I want a challenge, really. Hard is fun.
