Well NYC is around a 4-5 hour drive. You're looking at something around there, if not longer.

I was just playing there 2 days ago and I thought the pads were just fine. But what would I know, right?

We're dealing with the players who like to blame every miss on the pad, when in reality they should'vew done more then graze the arrow with their little toe, and it'd register. No you probably can't AAA songs JSB style, but every arrow registers fine.

I will be willing to house anyone who needs a place, so long as they let me know a little bit beforehand, and hey l0k, we should consolidate and all stay at one place so we can frick that poopy up all night, hehe

I just got back from Carousel and the pads work fine. The Up arrow on the 1p side is still cracked but it was still responsive for me. It just feels a little weird...

freestyle rules??

Yaknow, the way it is now i could get away with doing a beginner song - which you cannot fail, so you don't have to hit any arrows.. Makes for an easy freestyle routine.

Uh, like I need rules for this?

THAT is why you need rules. Does that answer your question?

Exactly. It is weird. The sensors seem fine to me. It's the pads themselves! One of the pads is cracked and makes a loud clicking noise sometimes; to some people, it could be very annoying. And about it being fine two days ago, I said that it happened yesterday. Geez.. Sherl0k.. learn how to read.
Petrie.. I never said anything was wrong with the sensors. I don't b!tch about pad misses. Ever.

All I'm saying is that some people aren't going to like it the way it is. If you want to run a good tournament, and cater to every type of player (yes even the picky ones) then get on the ball and make the namco employees aware of the situation. The only reason I'm calling attention to this is because I'm trying to help.

Actually the sensors are messed up.

Right pad, down arrow and up arrow, pad errors sometimes.

Left pad, up arrow, cracked arrows and pad errors sometimes, left arrow, inside sensor skewed from original location.

We all know perfectly well Namco isn't going to do a thing, so we do one of 2 things, we all go and have a good time, or we cancel the tournament, because you all know they aren't going to do a thing.

I beg to differ on the right side, it works perfectly for me.

And Katy, don't start with me. I can read just fine. It's amazing how people will always find SOMETHING to complain about. I think Petrie's right here... either deal with a cracked arrow or we call this shindig off, because it's not gonna get fixed in time for the tournament.

Way to take a positive, active approach to the problem. It's at least worth a shot. If you can't make a simple phone call and talk it over with someone... that shows a lot about how much you really care about this whole thing. I'm not going to do it for you. Sowwyyy.

And Techie.. thanks for the update.... (I didn't play today.) Jiri said something about it yesterday, now that I think about it. He was having some trouble with DXY, if I remember correctly. Ouch. This is why I didn't get involved in this tourney...Did you even tell the arcade to make sure and schedule TuPhi or someone else who has keys to the machine??

You only have a little more than a week to get this settled. Good Luck!

Wow, thanks for the update genius. Like I didn't know when my own tournament is.

Justin's already planning on talking to the managers tomorrow, so you can stop making obvious suggestions.

Alright... Just don't bail your own tournament just 'cause something goes wrong. Remember how we all had to do it for you last time?? biggrin.gif Don't pussy out and disappear again.

*runs in and tells all the kiddies to remember to calm down, because the internet is REAL SERIOUS BUSINESS...*

Come on guys, lets just relax... and stay focused on a positive time at the tournament, something like this is a ripple in the plan for the tournament, but theres nothing that can be done. Talking may get them to realize that it is broken and maybe get on it, Sean seems to care enough about DDR that he might get on the ball, as it is the biggest money maker there, and its all about the money at the arades. But also I know from experience, that it usually takes a good 2 weeks to get any part... at least.. because they have to call "tech support" and explain to some guy whats wrong, and then that "tech support guy" will be like, ok well press this, flip that, blabbidy blah that.. .does it work now? ok fine try this.. which takes FOREVER.

So if it dosnt work, then they will send the new parts out... eventually. So the likelyhood of us getting new arrows/sensors by tourney time is slim to null. So I suggest, we all just try to have a good time... regardless of the pad problem.

REMEMBER

This game is supposidley about having fun, and hanging out with your friends. If were not doing any of this, having fun with friends... and being happy, what is the point of playing the game or going to the tourney. So lets all calm down and try to have fun riiight.gif.

Also I am looking forward to seeing everyone there, I am egarly anticipating this event... It shall be fun, and good times to be had by all xD.

So umm... Yay, w00t, and ROXOROZ AWAY AT THE TOURNEY!

PEACE!~

Oh, I agree. I just don't want to see people from out of town surprised when they get here.

Well considering that both Justin and I have jobs and lives outside of going to an arcade on a daily basis, It's not like we're going to be the first to know about EVERYTHING that goes wrong with the machine. You say an arrow's cracked? Fine, we'll talk to someone to get it fixed. But don't make me look like a fucking idiot in the process, thinking we're not going to do anything about it or just let it "slide" and have out-of-towners deal with it when the come in. You posting about the problem in the first place notified everyone of the problem, so no, I don't think they're gonna be like "wtf an arrow's cracked?" if they read this thread.

Oh, and just so everyone knows:

[01:40] ChiChi Kuri Katy: yea... and by the way
[01:40] ChiChi Kuri Katy: of course the pad works fine for you
[01:40] ChiChi Kuri Katy: dumbass
[01:41] ChiChi Kuri Katy: you dont have standards high enough to tell the difference
[01:41] ChiChi Kuri Katy: If you want to try and embarrass me for trying to help this tourney
[01:42] ChiChi Kuri Katy: to try and WARN people that you guys dont pay well enough attention to the machine to keep it in good working condition (yes the pad has had a few cracks for a month or so, and if you would have caught them it wouldnt be so bad)
[01:43] ChiChi Kuri Katy: then.... you're going to have a lot of fun dealing with me in person
[01:43] ChiChi Kuri Katy: and you wont have all your little internet buddies there to hold me back. Just frick watch your step.

Sadly attempting to attack me for my DDR scores (which I could care less about) and making me look like the bad guy for somehow wilholding information that I don't even have (actually you gave me the info + made it public), and then threatening me, is QUITE mature.

There's your SERIOUS BUSINESS everyone.

I can't run this tournament and have fun when I get people threatening me.

I try to explain that we are doing this for a good time, but it seems certain ppl dont appreiate that sentiment.
