Whoa, 6 million copies of DDR....that's still less than a million per version, and that's if they sold it only in Japan, there's three games in the US, and what, 20 in Japan and the US has maaaaaaany more compared to the Japanese sales...oh, well, keep buyin' DDR and it'll be super mega oh my god mainstreamed popular. Wrong wrong WRONG!

As it says in the article...

4 million in Japan - Note - According to old sales figures, over 25% of this figure is the *original* DDR release. DDR Extreme hasn't even broken 100K.
1.5 million in Europe
1 million in the US

Secondly, there are six US versions now:
Dance Dance Revolution (PSX)
Dance Dance Revolution Disney Mix (PSX)
Dance Dance Revolution Konamix (PSX)
DDRMAX: Dance Dance Revolution (PS2)
DDRMAX2: Dance Dance Revolution (PS2)
Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix (Xbox)

Wrong.
All machine's in the US are illegal except for USA/US1 Mix.
Solo 2000, 3rd, 3rd Kv1/2, 2nd, etc. etc. are all illegal in the US.

DJP said that Japanese machines were licensed for use in america up to 4th Plus I believe.

it would be impossible to coutn how many machines are actually in america. because all 6th mix(possibly 7th, froget) and higher are illigal in the US. theyre just shipped from japan, yep, DDREX was never actually released in the US. this makes it hell for arcade workers such as me because the entire manual is in JAPANESE!!! grrr evil not being able to read the manualness... frust.gif

Wrong.
None of the machines are illegal to own here in North America. It IS illegal, however, to charge money and make money off of them. So most arcades get aroundt his by charging "tokens" to play them, which is essentially not money.
