Well, I'm gettin a job. Yahoo. Anyways, because of the constant cash flow, I can spend more on DDR. I'm looking to get a metal pad, and also looking to modchip my PS2 so I can play import mixes.

1. What's a good, durable, metal pad that feels just like an arcade one? Is there a fairly inexpensive one? And how heavy do metal pads tend to be?

2. I want to modchip my PS2 to play all the import mixes, PSX and PS2. Is there a non-solder modchip I can do this with? I can solder and everything, it's just that as far as that sort of thing goes, I can install PCI cards and RAM and stuff in a computer, I've installed CD-ROM drives and stuff a few times too. I just don't want to screw up my $200 gaming system and a $50 mod chip.

EDIT: I can live without MAX JP and MAX2 JP, so all I really need is a mod chip that plays PSX imports.

Check the "metal pad" sticky and the "modchip" sticky.

I just got my pay check after working this summer. I spent most of it on a Cobalt Flux, I was worried about the price but after reading more about it I saw that it was definetly worth the price. I've still got 100 bucks left over which I will probably blow at the arcade but that's something I can deal with.

I cannot justify over $300 on a pad. Thats insane. If you have the time, build yourown metal pad. Youll be satisfied you accomplished something, and you will like it that much more, at least I think. Ive had my metal pad that I built for abotu a week, and I absolutely love it.
