i wanna play dancing stage fusion and some other pal game on my flip-top ps2, my question is should i get the pal-ntsc converter here: http://store.unet.net/shop/showdetl.cfm?DID=12&Product_ID=229
or is there a way to do it without (im used to my xbox converting PAL to NTSC for me so im not used to messing around with it

okay, so i have the fliptop for the older version of hte ps2. i want to get the new slim one but want to be able to play my import games.
this just came out...does anyone know if it works as well as fliptops on the older systems?

You want US, caus it will work on a US ps2 that way.

DMS4 EZI looks ok, but some concerns:
the DMS4 software is poopy, look at their forums for the number of people who got it working
if a clip comes off or loose it can fry your ps2. 
the best modchip right now IMO is the crystal chip.Shipped it is unable to boot backups but just download the hacked firmware from certain websites to enable it.Plus the customer service is pretty good and the bootmanager software it features is kickass compared to ANYTHING other modchips have right now.
PS2LIDS are only for the slim ps2s, and they require sm3.3 for some games.

Like what? The only complaints I've seen so far are either from faulty installation or a faulty console.

I had an V2 that cmcm modded for me via the Messiah2 and i didn't like it so much, I'm willing to go for the DMS4 or DMS3 but I just want some confirmation that it will work with the new system.

The best thing to do right now is WAIT. The PSTwo suffers from the problems that ALL Sony first run consoles suffer from. It breaks easily. Tons of PSTwos are having their lasers basically burn up and thats without modding. Modding it seems only makes the problem worse in that you have voided your warranty and can't get a new model. I was considering selling my V4 DMS3 but after reading up I realized its best I wait until after the holiday season when a new version of the PSTwo is out.

| I have a fliptop and was wondering if you need the white disk thats on the fliptop when you opened the lid?Does it play imports without it because mine doesn't have one.But I do have the swap magic disks. |
